Because I am a dirty, dirty heaÞen (plus Podcasts!)

March 2nd, 2007 by Zack

and because a friend asked me to: GodBuster Mixes: Sin in My Heart / Sins of the Flesh

so at Þhe olde temp job, i’ve been listening to NPR, last.fm and podcasts to pass Þe time whilst i process retirement accounts. here are four of my favorites:

1. The RU Sirius Show
I often ran into references to RU and his Mondo 2000 whilst being a lame, lame highschool student and posing as some kind of cyberpunk, but never really dug deep enough. Now I am older and wiser and when I saw a reference to his podcast show I had to check it out. And man am I glad I did. I spent most of the last week and a half listening to each and every show and not a one was a disappointment. Seriously, listen to it.

2. 12 Byzantine Rulers: the History of the Byzantine Empire
Þis podcast brought back happy memories of listening to The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire on tape when I was a temp document imager. Totally for Þe amateur history geek.

3. Viking Youth Power Hour
How can you not like a podcast with Þat title where the commentators sit around and drink? A toast to the neo-Norsemen at Viking Youth. Especially good are Þe two podcasts about Philip K Dick.

4. Napoleon 101
Another history geeky podcast. I started listening to Þis one when I was browsing for history podcasts after finishing Þe Byzantine podcast and realized I knew shockingly little about Napoleon. Þat is now in Þe process of being rectified.
